Do You Include Balance Into Your Workouts?

I bet you do include balance in your workouts. You many not even realize it!  It is very important.

You need balance for everyday walking, doing stairs, bending over and carrying things. It is necessary for pretty much any movement we do.. If you don’t realize how important it is, ask someone who has had it interrupted with a middle ear infection, or any of the other things that can cause one to be wobbly!

It is also necessary when we bump into something that we know we are going to bump into.. However we need that balance more when we bump into something we don’t anticipate bumping into.

So you see, it is very important..

How to train it?

I am going to say one of the the best trainings for balance is Yoga!  However you can practice your balance with many other workouts too.  When you lift weights, you need to be balanced; if one side is lifting weight and the other is supporting.  When we move with certain aerobic moves we need to have good balance so we don’t fall over. I am sure you have other things you know where you work on your balance.. 

What do you do to work on your balance? Or what do you do as a work out that you can say works your balance?

What’s your favorite workout for balance?  I have to say mine is Yoga.  Although doing plyometrics in my classes is a close second!!
